Active control and acoustic wavefront shaping strategies for the control of acoustic waves and objects

Abstract: The development of wavefront shaping and active control techniques has been at the heart of many research topics in recent years, and has made it possible to further push the boundaries of physics to achieve observable phenomena that cannot be achieved with passive systems. In this seminar, I will present two examples of my recent work.
First, I will discuss the possibilities of non-reciprocal control of acoustic waves by actively controlling resonators whose specific impedance are periodically modulated in time. We will focus in particular on the experimental realisation of an acoustic circulator based on this time-varying active control scheme.
Secondly, I will present an iterative and versatile method for manipulating objects in a disordered environment using acoustic waves, based on a far-field wavefront shaping technique. In this second part, I will briefly present the theoretical basis of the developed wavemomentum shaping technique and show different manipulation scenarios and results obtained experimentally.
