Waves and Imaging
About O&I Team
Head of the O&I Team:Sandrine Rakotonarivo
Zine Fellah
The « Waves and Imaging » team studies wave propagation of mechanical (elastic and acoustic) waves in complex media. Its research aims at modeling, characterizing and imaging non-invasively natural, biological and manufactured media, using waves. A wide range of studies are performed, from phenomenological modeling to experimental study, to software development and high performance computing.
The fields of application range from environment (seismic imaging, underwater noise reduction, bio-sourced material for sound absorption), civil and nuclear engineering (testing and surveillance of structural integrity), transport (reduction of railway-induced vibrations), health (diagnostic imaging and therapy by ultrasound) and archeology (imaging of ancient statues)
